Stefanie Sargnagel, born in 1986, studied painting in the class of Daniel Richter at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, but she spent more time on her bread-and-butter job at a call center, because: “Whenever my professor Daniel Richter pops up at art student parties, everybody suddenly acts as if God were speaking to his disciples. I never know how to deal with that, because I am God.” Since 2016, she has been working as a freelance writer and spending more time with her tax consultant. In 2016, she was awarded the BKS-Bank Audience Prize at the competition for the Ingeborg-Bachmann Prize. In July 2017, her new book “Statusmeldungen” will be published by Rowohlt.
