Narrating the Future. Futurology, Science Fiction, Politics, and Literature Lecture and talk with Prof. Dr. Philipp Theisohn

Wednesday, 20 January 2016, 06–08 pm

How can one write the future? And for what purpose? In view of what may yet come, science and fiction unite, represented in the narrative forms of science fiction and futurology. What opportunities and risks these narrations bear, what their political value consists in, and how issues of the 1960s and 70s are linked with our present time—these are questions we would like to discuss together.

Philipp Theisohn is SNF-Förderprofessor of new German literature at the German seminar of the University of Zurich and head of the research project Conditio extraterrestris.
Lecture and talk held in German.
